The Estate

Stone, olive trees, and the Duomo on the horizon

Villa San Gabriele sits alone on a soft rise of Umbrian countryside, ten minutes from the walls of Orvieto. The farmhouse has been in the same family for generations — thick stone, terracotta floors, shuttered windows that open onto the valley.

Inside, everything works the way it should: proper beds, air conditioning, fast wifi, a kitchen you will actually want to cook in. Outside, nothing to do but swim, eat under the pergola, and watch the light change over the cathedral.

Estate Life

Days that need no itinerary

Wood fire

Pizza night, every night

A handmade Neapolitan oven by the pergola. Dough rests in the kitchen, the fire goes on at seven, and dinner takes care of itself.

Long table

Dinner under the vines

Twelve chairs, candles in glass, and the valley going dark behind you. The table where most of the week happens.

The pool

Swim facing the Duomo

Unfenced from view and edged in stone, with loungers, umbrellas and an outdoor shower under the cypresses.

The land

Olives, figs and rosemary

Three hectares to wander, herbs to cut for the kitchen, and our own oil pressed in the village each November.
